Approximate layout previews. YouTube can display titles and thumbnails differently across devices. This tool does not run an audience A/B test or predict click-through rate.

How to use this tool

  1. Upload your thumbnail. Choose a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image. You can add a second image for comparison.
  2. Add draft titles. Enter a video title and channel display name. An optional second title can accompany your second image.
  3. Inspect smaller layouts. Switch between desktop, mobile, and compact previews. Check legibility and title truncation.

FAQ

Does this tool test click-through rate?

No. It previews appearance at several approximate sizes. Actual audience testing and measured performance require a separate experiment, such as the testing features available in YouTube Studio.

How can I compare two thumbnails?

Upload variants A and B, then inspect them at the same size. Use a different title for B or leave its title blank to compare both with the same title.

What happens to my uploaded images?

They remain in your browser. The preview does not upload them to a server or publish anything on YouTube.

Why does my image look cropped?

The thumbnail frame uses a 16:9 aspect ratio and center-crops other shapes. Prepare a 16:9 export with our Image Resizer if you want to control the final crop.
