Where Social Blade Is Better
Social Blade has been collecting public statistics for years, and that history is its biggest advantage. Because it records channels itself every day, it can show daily charts of subscriber and view changes going back well before you started looking. No tool built only on YouTube’s current API totals can recreate that, including ours.
- Daily history: its channel pages show “Daily Channel Metrics” and progress charts.
- Live-style counts: it advertises realtime live subscriber counts for channels.
- Rankings: Top 100 lists for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Twitch.
- More platforms: stats pages for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch and Facebook.
- Business data: it offers a Business API for companies that need data at scale.
If your job is to monitor competitors week to week, or to compare creators across several platforms, Social Blade is the stronger tool.
Where SocialStatsIQ Is Better
SocialStatsIQ focuses on making public YouTube numbers understandable, and on the money questions creators actually get stuck on.
- Every number is explained. Channel pages say what each figure is based on, including that YouTube rounds public subscriber counts, and that growth figures are averages, not recorded history.
- Adjustable earnings estimates. The YouTube earnings calculator lets you set your own RPM instead of trusting a single number.
- Monetization help. Step-by-step guides for AdSense for YouTube, payment holds, PIN verification, tax forms and demonetization appeals.
- Creator tools beyond YouTube. TikTok and Instagram engagement calculators and the Snapchat Planets decoder.
- No paid tier. Everything is free, with no upgrade to unlock features.
Are Social Blade’s Numbers Accurate?
Social Blade and SocialStatsIQ both rely on the same thing: the public statistics YouTube makes available. That puts the same limits on every tracker:
- Subscriber counts are rounded by YouTube. YouTube’s API rounds public subscriber counts down to three significant figures, so a channel with 1,234,567 subscribers appears as 1,230,000 outside YouTube Studio.
- Live counts are estimates between those steps. A counter that ticks up one subscriber at a time is modelling the gap between YouTube’s rounded figures, not reading an exact number.
- Earnings are always estimates. No outside tool can see a channel’s real revenue. Both show ranges based on views and an assumed rate per 1,000 views.
So “accurate” depends on the question. For trends over time, Social Blade’s daily records are useful. For a channel’s current public totals, both tools read the same source. For your own channel, YouTube Studio is the only exact number.
How Each Tool Gets Its Data
The biggest practical difference between the two is when the data is collected. Social Blade records public channel statistics on a schedule and keeps every snapshot. That archive is what powers its daily tables and long-range charts, and it is why it can show a channel’s past even if you only search for it today.
SocialStatsIQ asks YouTube for a channel’s current public totals when you look it up, then caches the result for a short time. It does not keep a daily archive, so it shows lifetime averages (such as average daily views since the channel was created) instead of a day-by-day record. We say so on every channel page rather than presenting averages as history.
Two things affect both tools equally. If a creator hides their subscriber count, neither can show it. And for your own channel, the full daily record already lives in YouTube Studio: export it and open it in our subscriber history CSV explorer to chart your exact growth, which no public tracker can match.
Earnings Estimates Compared
Both sites offer a YouTube money calculator, and both work the same basic way: views multiplied by an assumed RPM (revenue per 1,000 views). The difference is how much the assumption is visible. SocialStatsIQ shows the RPM it uses and lets you change it, because real RPM varies hugely by niche, audience country and video length.
Before trusting any channel’s “estimated earnings”, read why RPM and CPM are different and why RPM-by-niche benchmarks are unreliable.

Social Blade vs SocialStatsIQ FAQ
Is Social Blade free?
Yes, its channel statistics are free to view without an account. Social Blade also offers an ad-free upgrade for people who want to remove ads.
Does Social Blade show live subscriber counts?
Social Blade advertises realtime live subscriber counts. Because YouTube rounds public subscriber counts to three significant figures, any live counter has to estimate between YouTube’s rounding steps.
Is there a free Social Blade alternative?
SocialStatsIQ is free with no paid tier. It covers public YouTube channel stats, earnings estimates and creator tools, but not daily history charts or multi-platform rankings.
Why do Social Blade and SocialStatsIQ show different numbers?
Both read public data from YouTube, but they refresh at different times and present it differently. Social Blade adds estimates between rounding steps; SocialStatsIQ shows the rounded public count YouTube publishes.
Can SocialStatsIQ show a channel’s subscriber history?
Not for other channels. SocialStatsIQ does not keep daily snapshots, so it shows lifetime averages and projections. For your own channel, export your YouTube Studio data and open it in the free subscriber history CSV explorer.
Does Social Blade track Instagram and TikTok too?
Yes. Social Blade has statistics pages and Top 100 lists for Instagram, TikTok and Twitch as well as YouTube, plus Facebook stats. SocialStatsIQ’s channel stats cover YouTube only, with separate TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat calculators.
Which is more accurate?
Neither tool can see more than YouTube makes public. For your own channel, YouTube Studio is the only exact source. Use either tracker for public channels, and check what each figure is based on.
